Satish Kumar, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary, Govt of India, chaired a review meeting on railway projects on Central & Western Railway held at ‘Chintan’ Conference Hall, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai on Monday, 04.08.2025.

Shri Dharam Veer Meena, General Manager, Central Railway, Shri Vivek Kumar Gupta, General Manager, Western Railway, Shri Vilas Wadekar, Chairman and Managing Director, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC), Shri Manoj Garg, Vice Chairman of the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), Additional General Managers, Principal Head of Departments, Senior Officers, Divisional Railway Managers (Mumbai Division) of Central & Western Railway along with Senior Railway Board Officials and Senior Officers of MRVC were also present.

Shri Satish Kumar discussed matters related to various railway projects. He also inspected the ongoing work related to redevelopment of CSMT station being carried out by RLDA.

The Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Railway Board, on Saturday, 02.08.2025 inspected the ongoing work of Station improvement at Khar station, Western Railway, being carried out by MRVC.

On Sunday, 03.08.2025, Shri Satish Kumar travelled from CSMT to Nashik by Vande Bharat Express and carried out inspection of Kasbe Sukene, Kherwadi, Odha, Mahagenco, Devlali and Nashik stations as part of the preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela at Nashik scheduled to be held in 2027. Shri Satish Kumar held a meeting with the State Government Officials at Nashik and also visited Ghatkopar station in the evening.

During a combined meeting held with CR, WR and the various agencies doing Developmental works in Mumbai Metropolitan Region Shri Satish Kumar reiterated to maintain absolute & unwavering focus upon safety and applauded the efforts made by Central Railway for redevelopment of Khadki & Hadapsar stations in record time.

The main focus of the meeting was capacity enhancement and provision of the better facilities with addition of train services for the commuters through innovative solutions and expeditious completion of the ongoing works. Shri Satish Kumar reviewed the progress of the Mega Coaching Complex works and preparations for the enhancement of passenger carrying capacity for both Mail Express and Local trains. A detailed presentation for the way ahead towards Viksit Bharat 2047 and Bharatiya Railways contribution in the same was also reviewed.

The immediate solutions like the enhancement of 15 car local trains in MMR region was reviewed was found satisfactory. Shri Satish Kumar insisted for the expeditious and optimum completion of the works keeping in mind the overall passenger safety and convenience.

During a brief interaction with media persons, Shri Satish Kumar spoke about the status of CSMT redevelopment work and reiterated the unwavering focus upon Passenger safety and Quality of the work.

Chairman & CEO, Railway Board, Shri Satish Kumar, also conducted an inspection of Jogeshwari (AT) yard today. He reviewed the ongoing development of the new coaching terminal at Jogeshwari (AT).
