It has an annual budget of over Rs 74,400 crore. Here, 1,700 candidates are fighting for 227 seats in the municipal election that was held after a delay of four years. The results will shape the governance and development priorities in the coming years. According to exit polls, the BJP-led Mahayuti is clinching a smooth victory in the BMC. However, the official list of winners is yet to be declared.
