Mumbai: Municipal commissioner Bhushan Gagrani on Wednesday morning visited Marine Drive, from Nariman Point to Girgaon Chowpatty and instructions the officials to focus of upkeep and beautification of the Mumbai’s iconic place.
Enhancing Natural Charm and Visitor Experience
“Our focus should be retained its natural beauty and give pleasant experience to morning and evening walkers as well as visitors,” Gagrani said.
Instructions Include Barricade and Notice Board Removal, Clean Toilets, and Seating
Some of the instructions given by the BMC chief include: removal of barracading from National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA) area in Nariman Point, creating unnecessary obstructions; removal of extra notice boards, enhanced sitting facilities like benches for the senior citizens, painting of the electric polls time to time, space for parking wheelchairs the disabled, regularly cleaning and sanitation of the public toilets.
Parsi Gate to Be Lit at Night; Police Chowki to Be Relocated Near Chowpatty
Gagrani also instructed to have the Parsi Gate area at the Marine drive to be properly lit at the night. He also told for removal of police chowki on the roadside and relocate it near the chowpatty area. He also directed to remove construction material lying at the chowpatty and keep the area clean.
