New Delhi: Ahead of the 2025 Delhi Assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to release its first manifesto, termed the ‘Sankalp Patra,’ today at 2 pm. The manifesto will be released by the party’s National President, JP Nadda, at the BJP headquarters in the national capital.

Amid the ‘freebies’ promised by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress party, the BJP’s Sankalp Patra is expected to balance freebies, subsidies, and infrastructure development. It is also anticipated to focus primarily on addressing the concerns of women, the underprivileged, and senior citizens.

On Thursday, the BJP released its fourth list of nine candidates for the elections, bringing the total to 68 out of 70 seats, leaving two seats for its allies. These seats have been allocated to National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners: Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). Notably, the JD(U) will contest from the Burari constituency, while LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest the Deoli seat. Reportedly, the JD(U) has fielded Shailendra Kumar from the Burari seat, while the LJP (RV) is likely to decide its candidate for Deoli.

What to expect from the BJP’s Sankalp Patra?

The party may propose monthly financial assistance for women. It may also promise to extend free bus ride schemes for women, male students, and senior citizens. Apart from this, the party is anticipated to promise 300 free units of electricity for households and up to 500 free units of electricity for religious places. It may also provide affordable houses as a part of the “Jaha Jhuggi Waha Makaan”.

Amid the decades-long issue of clean Yamuna, the saffron party may also pledge to clean the sacred river.
