Patna: The district administration of Jamui in Bihar on Monday suspended internet services in the entire district with an objective to pre-empt any chance of miscreants spreading rumours through social media after clashes between two groups.

About The Case

Police said that members of a particular community pelted stones after a group of people were returning after reciting Hanuman Chalisa at a temple in Baliadih village under Jhajha police station limits of Jamui district on Sunday. Police have arrested eight stone-pelting miscreants in this connection so far. District magistrate Abhilasha Sharma and SP Madan Kumar Anand also made on-the-spot assessment late at night on Sunday.

Jhajha sub divisional police officer (SDPO) Rajesh Kumar said that the situation in the affected village returned to normal as police officers and cops had also been deployed to maintain peace. Stern action will be taken against all miscreants involved in the incident, he added.
