The Indian Navy is always on alert.
New Delhi: Pakistan used to operate only a few nautical miles away in the Arabian Sea. Ever since China started shaping its navy, it has now started coming out of its limits. China has already started reaching the Arabian Sea through the Indian Ocean in the name of anti-piracy and hydrography.
The Indian Navy counters both the adversaries from time to time. The Indian Navy has made such a deployment which has shocked China and Pakistan. The Indian Navy has deployed both its aircraft carriers in the Arabian Sea.
The indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant has joined the Carrier Battle Group INS Vikramaditya of the Western Fleet “Sword Arm”. It has carried out many multi-domain exercises and twin carrier fighter operations. Pakistan is rapidly trying to strengthen its navy.
Pakistan currently has about 24 warships. The Pakistani Navy is on track to double its number in the coming days and will increase its number of warships to 50 by 2035.
What is a Carrier Battle Group?
An aircraft carrier is an airfield floating on the sea. Due to the aircraft carrier, the ability to carry out air attacks in the sea improves. If an air operation is to be carried out, the aircraft is launched from the ground air base. Air operations can be launched by positioning the aircraft carrier close to the enemy’s territory in the sea to target enemy ships in the sea.
An aircraft carrier never moves alone. Dozens of warships and submarines are present to tackle any threat to the carrier. The enemy country looks to attack the aircraft carrier first because if it is targeted, the back of the Navy is broken. Therefore, its security is most important. If we talk about the Indian Carrier Battle Group, the number of destroyers, frigates, submarines and support ships in a group is 8 to 12. Their number is managed according to the point of operation. Missile boats or corvettes and oil tanker ships also move continuously with this battle group.
Area up to 250 nautical miles becomes impenetrable.
Every warship, fighter aircraft, and helicopter is connected. They engage every target or threat coming towards the aircraft carrier. If we talk about the effective range of the Carrier Battle Group of the Indian Navy, then this battle group is capable of protecting an area up to 200 to 250 nautical miles. It is further enhanced during a war. Anti-Submarine Warfare Operations, Anti-Ship Operations, Air Defence, Surveillance and Search and Rescue Operations can be run from the Carrier Battle Group.
