Patna: In a major development, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya on Saturday announced that she has made up her mind to quit politics, declaring that she was disowning her family. The announcement has come a day after the Rashtriya Janata Dal-led Mahagathbandhan’s historic loss in the Bihar Assembly election. Rohini, taking all the blame on her, slammed Tejashwi Yadav’s close confidant Sanjay Yadav and blamed him for her major decision. She has alleged that Sanjay and Rameez asked her to take the step.
She took to X and posted “I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family … This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do …nd I’m taking all the blame’s.”

RJD’s Historic Loss In Bihar Assembly Election
Earlier in the day, the RJD, reacting for the first time to the major loss, stated that it is not ‘despondent’ despite enduring a major defeat to the ruling NDA alliance which achieved an astronomical victory with 202 seats.
Notably, RJD, the largest party in the Mahagathbandhan, witnessed its tally plunge from 75 to 25 seats on Friday. It is one of the party’s most disappointing performances since the 2010 polls. The significant decline occurred even though the coalition rallied around Tejashwi Yadav as its Chief Minister candidate.
Mahagathbandhan Vote Share
The Mahagathbandhan seat count witnessed a sharp drop, ending below the 40-seat mark crushing its dream of government formation. On the contrary, the saffron party has emerged as the strongest performer within the NDA alliance. The BJP secured 89 assembly seats, its highest-ever tally in Bihar.
Nitish Kumar’s JDU succeeded in securing 85 seats, while Chirag Paswan-led LJP (RV) won 19 of the 29 seats it contested. HAM secured 5 seats and Upendra Kushwaha’s party claimed 4.
