Bharat Forge & VEDA Aeronautics Partner for Indigenous Unmanned Systems Development

Bharat Forge Ltd (BFL), a leading Indian aerospace and technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VEDA Aeronautics (P) Ltd (VEDA), a defence firm specializing in unmanned systems. The collaboration aims to develop advanced Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and high-speed aerial weapon systems for battlefield applications.

Under this partnership, VEDA will focus on enhancing unmanned system technology, while Bharat Forge will supply micro jet engines for these platforms. This strategic agreement is expected to strengthen India’s defence sector and contribute to the country’s self-reliance in military technology.

Guru Biswal, CEO-Aerospace Division, Bharat Forge, said, “This MoU with VEDA is a testament to our commitment to building an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and developing niche technologies that cater to both Indian and global defence needs in the evolving landscape of modern warfare. BFL will focus on the indigenous development of jet engines with up to 400 Kgf thrust to power unmanned systems for the Indian defense forces. The 40 & 45 Kgf engines developed by BFL are already in serial production and will be deployed by VEDA for all defense projects.”
