Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police are on high alert after Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) received a bomb threat email on Monday night. The sender of the email threatened to blow up one of BMRCL’s metro stations. Police have lodged a complaint and initiated an investigation. As per the complaint, the email arrived at around 11.25 pm on BMRCL’s official ID. The accused person used an email address identified as rajivsettyptp@gmail.com.
The unidentified sender alleged that the Silicon City’s Metro staff were “harassing” his divorced wife and issued a warning that “one of your metro stations will be blasted.”

In the email, the sender described himself like a terrorist and claimed that he is devoted and ‘patriotic against Kannadigas.’
BMRCL Assistant Executive Engineer Ratheesh Thomas immediately informed the police. The Wilson Garden Police Station promptly initiated an investigation after registering a complaint.
On Tuesday, after the district court’s permission, police have filed an FIR and started tracing the sender. A police team is examining the motive behind the bomb threat.
Following Delhi Blast, security agencies are also expected to review surveillance as the investigation moves forward.
