Kolkata: Hours after Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari alleged that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had spread ‘fake’ videos on attack on migrant worker in Delhi, the affected lady Sajnur Parveen along with her family came back to Kolkata and on Wednesday while addressing the media at Trinamool Congress (TMC) Bhawan mentioned that Delhi police had heckled her and her son and wanted her to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’.

“Four police came to my house in Delhi and wanted to see my Aadhar card. Despite showing them the original document they termed me as Bangladeshi. They had even asked me where my husband was. Next day they came again and took me to a park near Mangalam Hospital and slapped me. They asked me to say Jai Sri Ram and kicked me in my stomach. They demanded Rs 25,000 and then next day the police picked us up and tortured us and made us sign several papers,” said Sajnur who was seen in the video shared by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at X.

Notably, Sajnur’s father-in-law stated that though they are residents of Malda district of West Bengal but for the last 25 years they stay in Delhi.

TMC MP Mausam Noor, MP Samirul Islam, Minister Firhad Hakim and leader Kunal Ghosh were also present in the press conference.

However, DCP Delhi (East) Abhishek Dhania on Tuesday had mentioned that after inquiry they found that the video was done out of political interest and claimed that no one from Delhi police had done such a thing.

TMC minister Firhad Hakim said that TMC will give them rehabilitation and provide them with fresh documents as their documents as mentioned by Sajnur has been taken away allegedly by Delhi police.

Hakim also added that Sajunr and her family will be taken to Malda safely.

Later, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh had taken Sajnur and her family to a police station to lodge a complaint against Delhi police.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) however, claimed that the claims made by Sajnur and TMC are fabricated.
