Confirming the facts, Prabhu Ram, vice president of Cyber Media Research was quoted as saying by a report by India TV that the higher cost will have a direct impact on iPhone exports from India, which may further reduce demand in the US market.
Piyush Goyal reacts on Trump tariffs on India
Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has reacted on the tariffs imposed by India that the country will take all necessary steps to protect national interest while negotiating trade deals with countries, as US President Donald Trump announced to slap 25 per cent tariffs, along with a penalty on India, from August 1.
Addressing the Parliament, Goyal also dismissed the US President’s “dead economy” comment, saying India has risen from 11th to the fifth-largest economy in 10 years, and remains the fastest-growing economy in the world, as per a report by IANS news agency.
According to the Commerce Minister, international agencies look at India as the bright spot in the world economy.
