Mumbai: Commuters at Dadar station will face temporary changes as the north-side staircase of the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) on Platform No. 4 is set to be closed for repair work. The closure will be in effect from the intervening night of March 15-16, 2025, until April 30, 2025.
Railway authorities have urged passengers to use alternative FOBs during this period to access the platforms. The repair work aims to enhance passenger safety and improve infrastructure durability.
Dadar station, one of Mumbai’s busiest railway hubs, witnesses heavy footfall daily.
“The Dadar (Western Railway) section manages nearly 1,050 trains on an average daily basis. The station witnesses an average daily footfall of approximately 1,75,000,” said a Western Railway official.
“The temporary closure may cause some inconvenience, but the repairs are necessary for long-term benefits,” the official added.
The railway authorities have apologized for the inconvenience and requested commuters’ cooperation. “Passengers are advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow station signage for alternative routes,” the official said.
