A year-long autopsy study by AIIMS Delhi reveals surprising findings while examining possible links between COVID-19 vaccination and sudden deaths in young adults.

This has raised a question and a fear in people that are covid vaccines behind these deaths? Now a team of AIIMS doctor have come up with a report that can shed some light on the raising questions. Doctors of AIIMS Delhi, after conducting detailed one-year autopsy-based observational research, come to a conclusion that there is no evidence connecting COVID vaccination with unexpected deaths in young adults. Hence, the AIIMS Delhi doctors started that COVID-19 vaccines are safe for people. lets know more about the study.
What Did The Study Say?
According to the study, sudden deaths among young adults are a serious issue and it needs the focused public health measures. The study also revealed that coronary artery disease is the leading cause of sudden deaths. It also highlighted that respiratory and unexplained deaths account for the highest number of cases and require further investigation, followed by heart-related causes.
Who Were Involved in the Study?
It is to be noted that the study was conducted by a team of AIIMS (Delhi) doctors, other colleges (Delhi and Chandigarh) also conducted the study. The study was titled “Burden of Sudden Death in Young Adults: A One-Year Observational Study at a Tertiary Care Centre in India” and it was published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research (IJMR).
A detailed evaluation was backed by through verbal autopsy, post-mortem imaging, and histopathological examination.
As per a report by PTI, the study involved investigating and examining the cases of sudden deaths of individuals aged between 18 and 45 over one year. However, the researchers have not found any major association between COVID-19 vaccination status and sudden deaths in the young population
Doctors found out that 60 percent cases were related to the cardiovascular system, the most common cause. After the cardiovascular system, 20 percent deaths are caused by respiratory-related causes and other non-cardiac conditions.
The findings are linked with scientific evidence from across the world that confirms COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.
