Microsoft has announced the rollout of Gaming Copilot (Beta), a new AI-powered assistant designed to act as a personal sidekick for gamers. The feature is starting today on the Xbox Game Bar for PC and will arrive on the Xbox mobile app in October. It will be available worldwide except in mainland China.

Gaming Copilot is built to help players with recommendations, tips, and in-game insights. It can answer questions, suggest strategies, and even track achievements or play history. Players can interact with it in real time without leaving their game.

It also supports Voice Mode. Players can talk directly to Copilot, ask about what is happening on their screen, or get information about enemies, characters, or quests. It can also provide game recommendations based on your library and history.

On PC, Gaming Copilot integrates into the Xbox Game Bar. Players can open it by pressing Windows key + G, then launching the Copilot widget. It supports features like:

  • Push to Talk – Quickly ask questions while playing without breaking immersion.
  • Mini Mode – Pin the widget for long conversations while keeping it small on the screen.

On mobile, it will be available inside the Xbox app. Players can use the microphone button to talk to Copilot directly while keeping the app open as a second screen.

Key Features

  • AI-powered assistance for quests, builds, and strategies.
  • Nightography-style improvements in how it understands game visuals.
  • Real-time screen awareness allows it to explain enemies, NPCs, or situations as they occur.
  • Recommendations for new games based on your favorites and play history.
  • Achievement tracking to help players unlock the next goal.

According to Microsoft, AI has the potential to change the way players experience games. The company wants Gaming Copilot to save time, offer helpful insights, and make gaming more personal. The assistant has already been tested with Xbox Insiders, and new updates will continue to add features.

Gaming Copilot is also being optimized for handheld gaming devices such as the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X, launching on October 16, and will eventually expand to Xbox consoles.

Microsoft has confirmed that Gaming Copilot is coming to PC starting today via Xbox Game Bar. It will come to the Xbox app in October. Gaming Copilot will be available everywhere except mainland China for players aged 18 and older.

To use it, PC players need the Xbox app installed and must be logged into their Xbox account. Mobile players will need the updated Xbox app once the rollout begins.
