After Delhi, strong tremors hit Bihar’s Siwan on Monday morning.
Siwan: After strong tremors hit Delhi and major parts of NCR, including Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram early in the morning, an earthquake of magnitude 4 on the Richter Scale jolted Bihar’s Siwan on Monday. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the depth of the quake was 10 kilometres.
Tremors hit Delhi at around 5.36 am. According to National Center for Seismology, the depth of the tremor was 5 km and the location was New Delhi.
NCS stated that the tremors that hit Bihar was at a latitude of 25.93 North and longitude of 84.42 East.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reacted to the strong tremors of magnitude 4.0 that hit Delhi and parts of NCR region early morning. He requested people to “stay calm and follow safety precautions.”
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Tremors were felt in Delhi and nearby areas. Urging everyone to stay calm and follow safety precautions, staying alert for possible aftershocks. Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation.”
The Delhi Police also promptly reacted saying, “we hope you all are safe, Delhi!” and provided an emergency helpline no. 112.
Taking to X, former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote, “I pray for safety of everyone.”
“Massive tremors were felt 10 minutes back in Delhi, woke us up from sleep. I hope and pray everyone is safe and sound,” AICC national spokesperson Ragini Nayak said in a post on X.
Internet users quickly took to social media to report experiencing strong tremors, with some stating that the shaking was intense enough to wake them from sleep. Others mentioned that their beds were rattled by the quake. Many expressed their surprise at the significant impact of a magnitude-4 earthquake.
