In a surprising incident from a village, a man named Harishchandra, aged 42, arranged a wedding for his wife of 15 years, Karishma, with another man. The ceremony took place on Thursday evening at a local temple, where Harishchandra reportedly removed the sindoor (vermilion) from his wife’s forehead in front of a priest, and watched as she exchanged garlands with a man named Shivraj Chauhan.
Harishchandra claimed he did this because Karishma had tried to poison him and gave harmful drugs to their son. He said he wanted to cut all ties with her and move on.
The matter came to light earlier in the week when Harishchandra caught Karishma and Shivraj together. A village meeting was held, but no solution was reached. After that, he decided to arrange the wedding.
However, Karishma says she was forced into the marriage and denied having any relationship with Shivraj. She admitted she had disagreements with her husband but said the wedding was done against her will.
After the temple wedding, Karishma left with their daughter, while their son stayed with Harishchandra. The couple had been married for 15 years and have two children.
Speaking to reporters, Harishchandra said, “She tried to kill me and even gave drugs to our son. I don’t want anything to do with her anymore.”
Local police officer Prabodh Kumar, from Khodare Police Station, said no formal complaint had been filed yet. He added that if any of the parties come forward with a complaint, the police will conduct a full investigation and take proper legal steps.
For now, both sides are standing by their claims, and the matter remains unresolved.
