The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) witnessed a bizarre incident in the early stages of the SRH innings. Abhishek Sharma, the SRH opener, was run out due to a goof-up with his partner Travis Head, leaving the SRH team in a worry.

The incident occurred in the 1st over of the SRH innings, with Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head at the crease. Head played a shot towards point region and set off for a single. However, Sharma, who was initially hesitant to take the single, suddenly changed his mind and started running towards the striker’s end.

In the midst of the confusion, Abhishek Sharma was left stranded mid-pitch, and Vipraj Nigam was quick to seize the opportunity. Nigam with his quick reflexes hit the stumps directly, leaving Sharma well short of his crease.

The run-out of Abhishek Sharma dealt an early blow to SRH’s innings, and the team struggled to recover from the setback. The SRH batting lineup, which has been inconsistent this season, will need to regroup and find a way to rebuild their innings.
