Instagram Notes just got more useful, and maybe a bit more fun.
Instagram is now rolling out a new feature that lets you share the Spotify track you are currently listening to directly in your Notes. And yes, it updates live, which means your friends will see your current song change as you move through your playlist.
This feature is going live globally, just ahead of World Music Day on June 21.
If you are someone who listens to music all day (like I do), this is a great way to add a bit of your vibe to your profile. It is more personal than a regular status update. Instead of writing what you are feeling, you can now share the music that says it for you.
You will now see a music icon when you go to create a Note. Tap it, and it will ask you to link your Spotify account. Once that’s done, just play any song on Spotify, and your Instagram Note will automatically show the track name and artist.
It will keep changing as you change songs, without you needing to do anything. If no song is playing at the moment, the next one you play within 30 minutes will show up. You can also add a small caption or message before you post your Note.
Instagram has been slowly turning Notes into something more than just short texts. Last year, they added music support, but this new feature feels more real-time and interactive. It is a small update, but a smart one. It gives music more space in social media without crowding your feed or stories.
If you do not see the feature yet, just update your Instagram app. It should show up soon.
