In a shocking incident from Mumbai’s Juhu area, a security supervisor has kidnapped a family’s pet dog in an apparent revenge plot against his contractor. The 14-year-old Pomeranian named Prixy, who requires regular medication, was abducted on April 15.

According to police reports, the accused, Rajendra Pandharkar (30), allegedly kidnapped the dog to recover Rs 4,000 that was deducted from his salary. He reportedly demanded a ransom of Rs 25,000 for the dog’s safe return.

CCTV footage clearly shows Pandharkar taking Prixy away. The incident occurred when the Joshi family, following their daily routine, sent a security guard to walk their pet. Pandharkar, who had recently returned as a supervisor after a month’s absence, disappeared with the dog.

“Prixy has been with us for 14 years. She’s family to us,” said Aditi Joshi to Jagran. The family tried contacting Pandharkar, but his phone was switched off. They searched for Prixy throughout Juhu, Vile Parle, and Andheri but found no trace.

Manav Joshi, Aditi’s father, explained: “Pandharkar had quit his job a month ago but returned eight days before the incident. On April 15 at 8 AM, he took Prixy for a walk and vanished.”

Dr Hitesh Swali, who has been treating Prixy for years, expressed concern over incident and said, “Prixy suffers from age-related arthritis requiring two injections monthly and daily medication. Without these, her condition could worsen significantly.”

Juhu Police have registered an FIR against Pandharkar under section 316(2) of the BNS Act. They are coordinating with railway police after surveillance footage showed the accused boarding a train from Andheri station.
