A man who was posing as a sub-inspector to smuggle illicit Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in a luxury car in Bhojpur district was nabbed by the police. A video of police interrogating the impersonator is making rounds on the internet.

In the video the man when asked about his name answers “R.K Parashar.” The intimidated man is seen folding hands in front of the police behind the camera.

According to Parashar, he is a resident of Chapra in Bihar and he was smuggling the liquor from Uttar Pradesh’s Baliya to Patna, where sale of alcohol is banned.

The accused claims that he tailored the police uniform a month ago at a shop in Patna, named “Top Bihar”. However, it was his first delivery. The impersonator says that he had crossed the Baxar border to enter Uttar Pradesh.

Smuggler Sent To Judicial Custody

According to a Times Of India report, the accused has been sent to judicial custody. Reports further suggest, a total of 1,010 bottles containing 283.790 liter IMFL was seized from the impersonator’s possession.

A special team was formed to nab the smuggler. When the excise officials attempted to intercept the suspected car near Kayamnagar village under the Gidha police station area on Ara-Patna road, the smuggler who was traveling in a car tried to speed away.

However, he was chased and caught at the next speed breaker on the Ara-Patna road. The smuggler tried to bluff the excise officials by claiming to be a sub-inspector, but his attempts were futile as he was exposed and was soon arrested.
