Hyderabad: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said that despite 8 MPs representing BJP in Telangana, the Centre has not done justice to Telangana in terms of sanctioning projects. He said that on the basis of parity what is being given to other states, same should be sanctioned and approved for Telangana.

Speaking with media after the all-party meeting was held at Praja Bhavan on Saturday, March 8, to discuss the issues to be raised in the parliament session which will be held in Delhi from Monday, he accused the NDA government of showing step-motherly treatment towards the state.

He said that the state government approved tri-partite agreement for the regional ring road (RRR) project that was submitted to the Union roads and highways ministry, was yet to be sanctioned and approved by the Centre.

He said the Metro Rail Phase-II project would be constructed at a cost of Rs 24,000 crore was yet to be approved by the Union urban development ministry, and the eight proposed extension of railway lines also needed approval from the Union railways ministry.

Owaisi noted that 94 acres for the development of Bapu Ghat at Langer House was to be transferred by the Centre, and Rs 7,400 crore assistance for linking Musi and Godavari rivers, and supply of drinking water under Godavari Phase-II was yet to be sanctioned by the Centre.

He also said that land for constructing the semi-conductor industries under the semi-conductor mission in Muccherla, which was awaiting the Centre’s approval.

“Kerala, Assam, Meghalaya, Punjab and Jharkhand, which are smaller than Telangana, but have more number of IPS officers. The state government has written to the Union home ministry to increase the allotment of IPS officers for Telangana which wasn’t done yet,” he said.

Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar said that there were 28 items/issues which were discussed during the all-party meeting, and that the MPs from Telangana would be raising them during the zero hour, question hour, and through supplementary questions. If need arises, he said that the MPs will also be moving an adjournment motion during the parliament sessions to discuss those issues.

Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that there was a need for MPs from all political parties to unite to protect the interests of Telangana. He said that two volumes of books with letters, information, and representations made by the state government to the Centre have been prepared, and given to the MPs.

To BJP and BRS MPs who couldn’t attend the all-party meeting due to various reasons, he said that the state government would once again reach-out to them and was ready to conduct another all-party meeting, and if they needed an invitation for the meeting a week in advance, the state government ready to do so.
