Xiaomi has today introduced its flagship smartphone, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, in China. As expected, the phone packs high-end hardware, top-tier cameras, and a futuristic design
Xiaomi 15 Ultra features a 6.73-inch 2K M8 12-bit OLED display with a 1-120Hz variable refresh rate. The display panel has up to 3200 nits peak brightness and also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It also has Xiaomi Ceramic Glass protection 2.0 to protect the display from scratches.
The phone is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm SoC with Adreno 830 GPU. Xiaomi has introduced a dual-channel, wing-shaped cold pump cooling system. This ensures efficient heat dissipation for long gaming sessions or heavy workloads. It also has up to 16GB LPPDDR5x and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.
The phone runs HyperOS 2 based on Android 15 out of the box. It brings an updated lock screen, home screen, and updated system applications. The HyperCore tech boasts to improve performance, graphics, networking, and privacy. HyperAI offers several AI tools to improve your productivity.
The phone has 50 megapixels Leica main camera with 1-inch sensor, f/1.63 ultra-large aperture, and OIS. It also has 50 megapxiels Leica Ultra Wide Angle camera with 115° ultra-wide viewing angle lens and a 50 megapixels Leica Telephoto camera with an IMX858 image sensor 3X floating telephoto. The main highlight of the camera setup is the 200 megapxiels Leica super telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch HP9 image sensor, f/2.6 ultra-large aperture, 4.3x periscope telephoto. The phone can record up to 8K videos from the rear camera. It also has movie-level color calibration and Xiaomi’s self-developed video anti-shake system (UIS). The phone also introduces Android’s first ACES LOG movie-level recording.
For selfies, the phone has 32 megapixels front camera with an OmniVision OV32B40 sensor. It can also record 4K 60 fps videos from the front camera.
It has an in-display fingerprint sensor and an Infrared sensor. The phone has USB Type-C audio, Hi-Res audio, Stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos. Connectivity options are 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11 be, Bluetooth 6.0 Beidou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS, NavIC, USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2, and NFC. One of the standout features of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is Xiaomi Star Communication. This allows for 7km two-way calls without a network. It uses advanced satellite communication technology and also supports China Mobile Beidou satellite communication.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired fast charging, 80W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging.
