Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The operation of long-distance buses from the newly constructed and state-of-the-art Kumedi Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) will start from the next month. Initially, buses going towards Gujarat, Rajasthan and New Delhi will be operated from here. Additionally, the Detail project Report (DPR) of Bada Ganapati flyover will be received in the next fortnight, thereafter further action will be taken.

Decisions in this regard were taken in the meeting of Coordination Committee, held at Division Commissioner Office on Wednesday. Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh presided over the meeting. In the meeting the progress of various projects was reviewed. Collector Asheesh Singh, IMC commissioner Shivam Verma, CEO of IDA RP Ahirwar, chief engineer of the city DR Lodhi, divisional forest officer Birendra K Patel and officials of the concerned departments were present in the meeting. Divisional commissioner Singh informed that the ISBT at Kumedi is almost ready.

The operation of the long-distance buses from the state-of-the-art facilities will start by mid-March. Initially, about 200 buses going to Gujarat, Rajasthan and Delhi route will be operated from this bus stand. This will reduce traffic pressure in the city. In the coming days, the operation of the buses going to other states will also be started from here.  Singh said that encroachments which are a hindrance in the plans of IDA and IMC will be removed.

The poor whose houses will be removed during the removal of encroachment will be given houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0. The progress of proposed flyover at Bada Ganpati square was also discussed in the meeting. Its DPR will be ready by the next fortnight and further action will be started. This work will be done with the cooperation of IDA and IMC. The issues of MR-11 and MR-12 were also discussed in the meeting. The officials of various departments also gave their suggestions in the meeting.
