Mumbai: A case of molestation of a 12-year-old minor girl by a liftman has come to light in High profile Society of Mulund West area of Mumbai. In this case, on the complaint of the minor’s family, Mulund Police has arrested the accused liftman, who has been identified as Vijay Shantaram Shinde. In this case, Mulund Police has registered a case against the accused under Section 74 of BNS and Section 8 of POCSO Act and is engaged in further investigation.
According to Mulund Police, this incident of molestation of a minor came to light on 18 February at 6 pm. The victim minor had gone out of the house to play. When she was returning to her home after playing, the accused liftman who was with her in the lift molested her. The accused not only touched the minor inappropriately, but also took photos with her in his mobile. Not only this, he also tried to take her to the 39th floor of the building, but after getting the information, the people of the building immediately called the liftman and questioned him.
The accused confessed his crime during the interrogation. After this, a case was registered with the police and the police arrested the accused. Further investigation is going on in this case
