The highly-anticipated film Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, is set to release on February 14. The film was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres on December 6, 2024, but it was reportedly postponed at Allu Arjun’s behest to avoid clash with Pushpa 2.

During an event in Hyderabad on Saturday, Allu Arjun revealed that he had reached out to the makers of Chhaava to let Pushpa 2 have a solo release. “They were very accommodating, and they moved from that date. I personally called them and thanked them for moving the date, and they said, ‘We’re all fans of Pushpa, and if you come, then we will make way for it’,” the actor shared.

Allu Arjun also thanked all the film industries in India for their support to Pushpa 2.

Meanwhile, Chhaava is now set to have a solo release on February 14, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s wife Yesubai Bhonsale and Akshaye Khanna as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

On Sunday, Vicky took to his Instagram to give his fans a glimpse into the prep he underwent for Chhaava. He revealed that he weighed more than 100 kg for his role, learnt horse riding and even got his ears pierced for real.

During the trailer launch of Chhaava, Vicky had revealed that he underwent a massive physical transformation for the film. “I trained for nearly seven months. I went from 80 kgs to 105 kgs for this role. Whatever I had in me, I gave it all to this film,” he had said.
