Riyadh, March 3: An air of confusion surrounded Portugal football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo after reports claimed that he had hurriedly left Riyadh amid rising tensions in the region due to Iran-Israel-US war. However, there are fresh updates from the international media that while his private jet departed Saudi Arabia, the Portuguese star himself has remained in Saudi and his family has left the danger zone.
As per reports, Ronaldo’s Bombardier Global Express jet, valued at over 70 million Pounds, took off from Riyadh on Monday night. The aircraft reportedly flew toward mainland Portugal before heading to Madrid. The movement sparked speculation that the five time Ballon d’Or winner was leaving Saudi Arabia amid growing security concerns.
Family Reportedly Moves to Madrid
As per reports from Spanish newspaper AS, Ronaldo continues to stay in Saudi Arabia, where he plays for Al Nassr FC. However, his family is believed to have travelled to Madrid as a precaution due to the rising escalation of conflict involving Iran.
Riyadh has recently faced security alerts amid rising tensions in the region. There are reports that Iran attacked Saudi Arabia with drones and missiles after the killing of their Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Israel-US airstrike. Ronaldo’s family’s departure from Saudi Arabia is seen as a protective step and not a permanent move.
No Official Statement
Amid rising speculations, Ronald has not issued any public statement regarding the situation. Sources reportedly quoted in Saudi media that the footballer remains in the Kingdom and continue his professional commitments with Al Nassr.
