OnePlus is building up anticipation for its next compact flagship, the OnePlus 15T, and the latest official teasers suggest a notable camera improvement over its predecessor. A OnePlus executive from China has just dropped more hints about this device, revealing upgrades to the design and imaging system.
New periscope zoom and thin bezels take center stage
In a recent Weibo post, Li Jie Louis, the President of OnePlus China, confirmed that the company is bringing the new LUMO periscope telephoto lens for the upcoming OnePlus 15T. Being based on the LUMO imaging system, this should translate to improved long-range shooting and portrait performance compared to its previous generation. The OnePlus 13T’s basic 2x telephoto shooter was a little disappointing last year, but the new periscope lens likely means higher zoom levels.
The teaser also highlights some updates to the front as well. OnePlus’ next compact phone is getting ultra-narrow bezels just like its larger sibling, the OnePlus 15. The screen is apparently surrounded by 1.xx mm bezels for a more immersive visual experience. While the official teaser doesn’t detail the full camera setup or specs yet, focusing on design and the camera improvements suggests OnePlus is looking to polish its compact flagship segment this year.
Early rumors have even revealed some powerful specs and features in the relatively tiny form factor. A smaller phone typically implied smaller battery, but the 15T makes no such sacrifice, with a battery pack reportedly between 7,000mAh and 8,000mAh. For context, Samsung’s top-of-the-line Galaxy S26 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh cell. So this is massive for a phone that is expected to have a compact 6.32-inch display. Official launch timing hasn’t been disclosed yet, but the 15T is expected to debut in China later this month.
