They are Former 1976 batch IPS officer Alok Joshi, Mssrs-Former Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran, 1976 batch former IPS officer, Rakesh Sood IFS officer, Ranjit Rae former IFS officer and 1984 batch IPS officer Vivek Johri.

Abhishek Tiwari is reported to have resigned. 2004 batch IPS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre Tiwari is presently on central deputation.

Wage, pension revision for employees & pensioners of PSGICs, NABARD and RBI

The Central Government has approved the wage revision for the employees of Public Sector General Insurance companies (PSGICs) and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). Additionally, it has approved pension revision for retirees of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and NABARD. 

Ghanshyam Das Gupta selected as Director (Mining), HCL

Ghanshyam Das Gupta, ED, HCL, has been selected for the post of Director (Mining), Hindustan Copper Limited at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on January 23, 2026. As many as 11 persons were interviewed for the same.

10 states participated at WEF this time

About half a dozen union ministers and 10 states participated in the 56th WEF in Davos. This is for the first time such a large number of Indian states- from developing to developed – attended and presented their achievements before the World. Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, MP, UP, Jharkhand and Kerala. Assam and Jharkhand making their debut at the summit. Chief Ministers from UP, Kerala, Gujarat and Karnataka did not go to Davos instead their senior ministers represented their respective states.

Ashish Bharti has been appointed as Deputy Inspector General in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on deputation. He is a 2011 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre.

Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has secured additional orders worth Rs.610 Crore since the last disclosure on January 8, 2026. Major orders received include communication equipment, medical electronics, thermal imagers, jammers, spares, services etc.

Subhasish Nag appointed to officiate in SAG in Western Railway
Subhasish Nag, who is presently posted in Western Railway, has been appointed to officiate in Senior Administrative (SA) Grade and posted in the cadre on the Railway itself. He is an Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE) officer.
