New Delhi: In view of the biting cold and severe cold wave in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken strict measures. The CM has ordered the closure of all schools up to class 12th of all boards (ICSE, CBSE, and UP Board) until January 1. The Chief Minister clarified that the safety of children is paramount during the cold wave, and no negligence of any kind will be tolerated.
Officers Must Ensure Arrangements
The Chief Minister has instructed senior officials of the government and administration to personally visit the areas and assess the ground reality. The CM said that in view of the severe cold, adequate arrangements for bonfires and blankets should be ensured at public places in every district.
No One Should Sleep in the Open
The Chief Minister has given special instructions to the officials regarding the operation of night shelters. He said that no person in the state should be forced to sleep in the open in the biting cold. All necessary facilities, including bedding, blankets, and cleanliness, should be ensured in all night shelters. Officials should ensure that the needy receive relief materials and shelter on time.
Will Not Let Any Poor Person Suffer
CM Yogi said that the state government is fully sensitive to the difficulties faced by people due to the cold and is committed to ensuring that no poor or needy person suffers in the severe cold. He claimed that the government has released sufficient funds to all districts for blanket distribution, night shelters, and bonfires.
Holidays May Be Extended If Needed
The CM said that the district administration has been instructed to provide adequate beds, blankets, cleanliness, and all necessary facilities, including food for the homeless, in the night shelters. He said that in view of the extreme cold conditions, District Magistrates have also been given the authority to close schools and declare holidays if needed. Instructions have also been given to conduct online classes in unavoidable circumstances.
