realme has confirmed that the realme 16 Pro Series will be launched on January 6, 2026. The upcoming smartphones will continue the brand’s Number Series and are positioned around design refinement and improved portrait photography.

The most notable highlight of the new series is its design approach. The realme 16 Pro models are designed in collaboration with industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. realme calls this approach Urban Wild Design, which aims to combine natural textures with a clean, urban look. The company says the focus is on comfort in daily use, with curved forms and materials that feel softer in the hand.

The phones use a bio-based organic silicone material, which is still uncommon in mainstream smartphones. While this could improve grip and comfort, it will be interesting to see how the material holds up over long-term use. realme is also introducing new colour options inspired by natural tones, including Master Gold, Master Grey, Camellia Pink, and Orchid Purple.

realme 16 Pro Series

The realme 16 Pro Series brings what the company calls a 200MP Portrait Master setup. The main goal here appears to be sharper portraits with better depth and more natural colours. High-resolution sensors are not new in this segment, but real-world results often depend more on processing than pixel count alone.

To support this, realme is debuting its new LumaColor IMAGE technology with this series. According to the company, the system is designed to balance light and colour more accurately to produce portraits that look natural rather than heavily processed. realme has also set up a LumaColor IMAGE Lab in partnership with TÜV to improve colour consistency, though detailed testing results have not yet been shared.

The brand is positioning the realme 16 Pro Series as a phone for users who care about design and everyday photography, especially portraits and social content. It continues realme’s broader strategy of bringing premium-looking features to a more accessible price range, though pricing details are still unknown.

More information about specifications, pricing, and availability will be revealed at the launch event on January 6, 2026.
