Indigo Big UPDATE: Amid the ongoing cancellation and delays in IndiGo Airline, the company’s CEO Pieter Elbers on Tuesday released a video message in which he stated that the airline is back on its feet and ‘the operations are stable’. He informed that the luggage bags stuck at the airports across the country have been delivered to passengers’ homes. “We are back to flying to all our 138 destinations in our network,” Elbers stated that IndiGo continues to work in full cooperation with the Indian government.

IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers said,” IndiGo is back on its feet, and our operations are stable…Lakhs of customers have received their full refunds, and we continue to do so on a daily basis. Most of the bags stuck at airports have been delivered to your homes…We also continue to address customer needs…As of yesterday, we are back to flying to all our 138 destinations in our network…We continue to work in full cooperation with the govt…We have started to focus internally on what has led to this, lessons to be learnt and how to emerge stronger..”

It is to be noted that the disruptions in the IndiGo flight operations have entered their eighth day today. On Tuesday only, the airline had cancelled more than 400 flights across major cities like – Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai, among other airports.

Meanwhile, the ongoing crisis was also discussed in the Winter Session of the Parliament. Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu informed the Parliament about the refunds and other details.

Indigo What Did Indigo CEO Say About Refund?

Elbers stated that lakhs of passengers received full refunds on their tickets, assuring that the airline will continue the refund process on a daily basis, providing relief to passengers.

Meanwhile, aviation watchdog DGCA has put a restriction on Indigo’s winter flight schedule by 5 percent. It started when the airline couldn’t handle the operations efficiently.

It is worth mentioning that IndiGo Airlines is the largest domestic carrier in India. It operates 60 percent of the country’s domestic air travel market, operating 2,200 flights on a daily basis in the winter schedule.
