New Delhi: To clean the air in Noida and Greater Noida, including Delhi NCR, the delivery sector is also set to see a major change. The Air Quality Management Commission has decided to implement a green delivery model in Noida and Greater Noida from January 1, 2026. Under this, no e-commerce company will be allowed to use petrol or diesel vehicles.

CNG and electric vehicles

This means that from January 1, 2026, online deliveries will only be made using CNG and electric vehicles. This is expected to virtually eliminate pollution from the thousands of delivery vehicles plying the roads daily. This decision will prove to be a major change for companies like Swiggy, Zomato, Amazon, Flipkart, and Blinkit. Delivery bikes, scooters, autos, and small four-wheelers will now be converted to CNG or EVs.

Officials believe this will increase green jobs in the city and provide delivery partners with the opportunity to operate vehicles with new technology.

Decision made at ARTO meeting

To implement this policy, an important meeting was held at the ARTO office in Noida Sector 32. The meeting was chaired by ARTO (Administration) Nand Kumar, while ARTO Vinay Kumar Singh and representatives from various delivery companies were present. Officials warned the companies and instructed them to begin preparations immediately.
