Mumbai local train update: In a major upgrade for the residents of Mumbai, Mumbai’s local train network will see a major disruption this Sunday. In the recent update, all three suburban lines will undergo a planned mega block. As per media reports, Central and Western Railways have announced the block to carry out essential maintenance work. Therefore, the commuters in Mumbai have been advised to plan their travel carefully, as several services will be cancelled, diverted or delayed through the day. Here are all the details you need to know about the block in Mumbai’s local train network.

Update from Mumbai local train block

On Central Railway’s main line, both Up and Down slow lines between CSMT and Vidyavihar will be unavailable from 10.55 am to 3.55 pm. During this time, Down slow trains leaving CSMT between 10.48 am and 3.45 pm will be diverted to the fast line up to Vidyavihar and will halt only at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla. In addition to trains on these lines, the up slow trains leaving Ghatkopar from 10.19 am to 3.52 pm will also run on the fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT, stopping at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla. Also, readers should note that large delays are expected on these routes.

Update for Harbour and Trans-Harbour passengers

Harbour and Trans-Harbour passengers will also face cancellations. Up Harbour Line services from Panvel to CSMT between 10.33 am and 3.49 pm, and Down Harbour Line trains from CSMT to Belapur/Panvel between 9.45 am and 3.12 pm, will not run.

Similarly, Up Trans-Harbour services from Panvel to Thane between 11.02 am and 3.53 pm, and Down services from Thane to Panvel between 10.01 am and 3.20 pm, will remain cancelled. The block will mostly affect late morning to afternoon travel, a period when thousands rely on local trains. To ease the load, special local trains will operate on the CSMT–Vashi route during the block hours.
