A 4-year-old girl was abducted and raped in West Bengal. She was found naked and covered in blood the next day.
A shocking incident of sexual harassment has been reported in West Bengal once again. A minor girl, sleeping beside her grandmother, was abducted and raped. According to the police, the serious incident occurred on Friday. The realisation of the girl’s disappearance came to her grandmother at 4 am. Later, she was found near a drain, her body covered in a pool of blood. Now, the 4-year-old girl is in critical condition at the hospital. After the incident was reported, the BJP government slammed the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, and accused her of suppressing the crime.
How did the incident happen?
According to media reports, the minor girl was sleeping beside her grandmother under a mosquito net on a cot. The incident happened at a railway shed in Tarakeswar, West Bengal.
The offender cut through the mosquito net and abducted the girl while she was sleeping. The grandmother realised she was missing at around 4 am.
As per the reports, she was found naked near the railway high drain of Tarakeswar, covered in blood on November 8. The minor was immediately taken to the hospital and is in a critical condition.
What did the girl’s family say?
In an attempt to hold back her tears, the victim’s grandmother said, “We live on the streets because our houses have been demolished. Where do we go? We don’t have any homes.”
The victim is in a critical condition at Tarakeswar Gramin Hospital. In addition, an FIR has also been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO). The police investigation is underway.
BJP’s take on the incident
The BJP leader, Suvendu Adhikari, slammed Mamata Banerjee’s TMC government for trying to suppress the crime.
He posted on X, “A 4-year old girl child has been Raped in Tarkeshwar. Family rushes to Police Station, but FIR not registered ! Taken to the Hospital – referred to Chandannagar. Tarkeshwar Police busy burying the Crime. This is the True Face of Mamata Banerjee’s free-for-all regime.
A child’s life is shattered, yet the Police are shielding the State’s Fake Law & Order Image, by suppressing the truth”, adding, “Are they Police Officers or Mamata Banerjee’s sycophants? Seems like Tarkeshwar Police have forgotten their Oath to uphold the Law. Mamata Banerjee, you are a Failed Chief Minister. Under your rule, West Bengal’s law & order has hit ROCK BOTTOM. Same script every time: Rape → No/delayed FIR → Hospital referral → Media blackout → TMC leaders cover-up! Mamata Banerjee, how many more lives of innocent daughters must be sacrificed/destroyed for your political survival?”
