Veena Devi: First on the list of wives of powerful men contesting the Bihar Assembly elections is Veena Devi. Veena Devi is the wife of Suraj Bhan Singh, a strongman, and is contesting the Mokama Assembly seat on an RJD ticket. She is facing Anant Singh.
Aruna Devi: The second name on this list is Aruna Devi, the BJP candidate from the Warisliganj assembly seat. A four-time MLA from the Warisliganj constituency, she is the wife of strongman Akhilesh Sardar.
Anita Devi: The third name is also from the Warisaliganj assembly seat. Anita Devi, wife of strongman Ashok Mahto, has been given the election ticket by Lalu Yadav’s RJD.
Vibha Devi: This list also includes the name of JDU candidate Vibha Devi from the Nawada assembly seat, wife of strongman Rajballabh Yadav. Vibha Devi also won from this seat in 2020.
Bima Bharti: Bima Bharti, wife of strongman Awadhesh Mandal, is also contesting the Bihar Assembly elections from the Rupauli Assembly seat, having been nominated by the RJD. Bima Bharti’s husband, strongman Awadhesh Mandal, is accused in several cases of murder, extortion, robbery, and arms dealing in Purnia and surrounding districts. Bima Bharti has served as a five-time MLA from the Rupauli Assembly seat.
Shivani Shukla: The list also includes the name of Baahubali Munna Shukla’s daughter Shivani Shukla, who will contest from Lalganj assembly seat on the ticket of Tejashwi Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
