New Delhi: Chief of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Air Chief Marshal AP Singh made a significant revelation regarding Operation Sindoor on Friday, September 19. He explained why it had to be halted after just four days. The Air Force Chief stated that Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, was concluded in just four days because India had achieved its objectives.

Achievements of Operation Sindoor

The operation destroyed nine key terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Air Chief Marshal Singh said, “Our objective was to take action against terrorism. We carried out precise strikes on terrorist bases and achieved our objectives. When the objectives have been achieved, why should we delay ending the war? Every conflict has a heavy price to pay, impacting our future preparations, the economy, and the nation’s progress.”

The Air Force Chief said that the world should learn from India how to initiate a conflict and how to end it as quickly as possible. Referring to ongoing conflicts in the world, such as the Russia-Ukraine and Israel wars, he said that these wars have been going on for years because no one is focusing on a strategy to end the conflict. He said that prolonging a war due to shifting targets or ego is wrong.

Operation Sindoor, response to Pahalgam Attack

The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killed 26 tourists. In response, the Indian Armed Forces targeted nine major terrorist bases in Pakistan and PoK. These included the Bahawalpur headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the Muridke headquarters of Lashkar-e-Taiba. These centres were used to plan anti-India terrorist activities.

Videos released by the Indian Air Force clearly show the intensity and level of destruction of the attacks on these bases. The strikes destroyed the residential areas and offices of senior terrorist leaders, where commanders formulated their plans.

Complete freedom to Armed Forces

In his address at an event, the Air Force Chief stated that the Army was given complete freedom to conduct “Operation Sindoor” and that no restrictions were imposed by the political leadership. The Air Chief Marshal stated that the superiority of air power was demonstrated during the conflict with Pakistan on May 7-10. He said that the S-400 missile system proved to be a game-changer, as the enemy was taken aback by the weapon’s range and power. He said that several Pakistani military installations were damaged.
