Among the attendees will be Laurene Jobs, the wife of Apple founder Steve Jobs, who is expected to participate as an ascetic.
She has received a spiritual lineage (Gotra) from her guru, Niranjani Peethadheeshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri. Laurene has also gained a new spiritual identity through this association.
Lauren will embrace the name “Kamala” and immerse herself in understanding Sanatan Dharma by participating in spiritual discourses and sermons during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Swami Kailashanand Giri revealed that Lauren Jobs has a deep interest in Sanatan Dharma.
She regards him as a father figure, and he reciprocates with paternal affection. At the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Swami Kailashanand Giri bestowed his gotra upon her, and she will now be known as Kamala.
Where is Kamala Bani Lawrence
Kamala Bani Lawrence is currently in Varanasi. She will arrive in Prayagraj on Sunday with her 60-member team. She will participate in two major Amrit (royal) baths here, including the Makar Sankranti bath and the Mauni Amavasya bath. Afterward, she will depart from Prayagraj.

- Her guru, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri of Shri Niranjani Akhara, accepted her as a daughter and named her Kamla, along with her family name and gotra.
- After the naming ceremony, Kamla (Lauren) visited Baba Kashi Vishwanath with her guru.
- She also participated in a boat ride on the Ganga and witnessed the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, organized by the Ganga Seva Nidhi.
- She mentioned that she would perform a Kalpvas during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, where she will seek spiritual peace by staying with saints.
- Her stay in Prayagraj will be a maximum of five days.
Swami Kailashanand Giri stated that he sought blessings from Lord Mahadev for the successful and smooth execution of the grand Kumbh Mela. He mentioned that his disciple, Maharishi Vyasannand Giri, has also arrived from the United States to visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple. The process of appointing him as Mahamandaleshwar will soon be completed. He also mentioned that if Kamala (Laurene Powell Jobs) wishes, she will participate in the Akhada procession in Prayagraj on January 13.
