A sudden leakage was detected in the 600 mm diameter water pipeline supplying water to the Fosbery Reservoir in the F South Division. As a result, emergency repair work has been initiated on a war footing near the Reay Road Bombay Port Trust warehouse, where the leakage was identified. However, the water supply to areas such as Sewree East, Darukhana, Indiranagar, and nearby regions has been affected.

Although the civic body began urgent repair work, technical challenges have arisen during the process, prompting the BMC to opt for manual repairs to expedite the work. As a result, there was no water supply to Sewri, Darukhana, Indiranagar, and surrounding areas on Monday. Furthermore, the BMC announced that there will be no water supply to Ambewadi and Dattaram Lad Marg on Tuesday morning.

“The repair work is progressing rapidly, but it is expected to continue into the late hours. After that, the water supply will be restored to normal,” said a civic official. The BMC has appealed the residents to conserve water during these times and use it judiciously.
