New Delhi: In an aviation accident involving IndiaOne Air’s nine-seater Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, six people were injured when the flight operating from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela made a forced landing on Saturday, 10 January 2026.

Odisha’s Commerce and Transport minister BB Jena said, “At least six people suffered minor injuries when a small aircraft of a private airline in which they were flying made a crash landing near Rourkela on Saturday. The incident took place near Rourkela.”

“One A-1 nine-seater private flight carrying six passengers from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar has met with an accident. The passengers have sustained minor injuries and are stable. It took place at Jalda, 10 kilometres from Rourkela. By the grace of God, this is not a major accident,” Jena told reporters.

According to the preliminary reports, the flight was operated by regional airline IndiaOne Air and the aircraft was a nine-seater Cessna Grand Caravan. It had to make a forced landing as it encountered a technical glitch shortly before it was set to land. IndiaOne Air confirmed that all passengers and crew on board are safe.

Meanwhile, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau will investigate the incident.

“The flight was on its way from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela. It made a crash landing 10 km before Rourkela. There were 4 passengers and 2 crew members. All are safe. The flight is IndiaOne Air. The number of the light is C-208,” said Prasanna Pradhan, the Director of Biju Patnaik International Airport.

Airport sources said that it was a regular flight between Rourkela and Bhubaneswar run by a private operator. Rescue teams have rushed to the spot, and the injured were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau will investigate the incident.

“The flight crew reported a technical issue after about 50 minutes of flight and prudently declared a “Mayday” call in accordance with established safety procedures. Acting decisively and professionally, the pilots carried out a forced landing in an open area near Kansor, approximately 15–20 km short of Rourkela at about 13:20,” the airline said in a press statement.
