Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Three persons, including two minors, were arrested and detained in connection with the death of a physiotherapist due to a stone-pelting incident in Rewa district, police said on Saturday.
The victim’s death was a result of intense competition between private bus operators. The incident occurred on March 3, when the three individuals hurled stones at a moving bus in Chorhata police station area, severely injuring the victim, a physiotherapist.
The bus was enroute from Rewa to Indore. Anil Sonkar, additional superintendent of police, said that while one man has been arrested and two minors have been detained, the mastermind behind the crime, Darshan Singh, a bus operator, remains at large.
Police allege that Singh paid the accused to carry out the stone-pelting attack. The accused, along with the minors, carried out the attack on a motorcycle.
The incident led to the death of Hiramani, a passenger, and caused injuries to several others, including the bus driver. During questioning, the accused admitted that their intention was to damage the bus and create delays, thereby causing financial losses to the bus operator.
