Lucknow: The detention of two women from Uzbekistan in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, has raised serious questions about immigration protocols and security lapses. The women, identified as Holida and Nilofar, were found living without valid passports or visas. Authorities are now investigating how they reached Lucknow from Delhi and how long they have been staying in India.

Sources report that the women had undergone plastic surgery, prompting agencies to verify their identities. Central intelligence units have been alerted to assess all aspects of the case, including the possibility of any violations of foreign residency rules. However, officials emphasize that all angles are being examined and no conclusions have yet been drawn.

The women were reportedly introduced locally by another foreign national known as Lolo, who is said to have a lookout notice issued against her in Uzbekistan. Police say Lolo was present during a recent raid but managed to escape when alerted about the operation. The Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) is also assisting in tracking her whereabouts.

In a related incident earlier this month, a woman from Uzbekistan was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a hotel in Vibhutikhand. Police are looking into any potential connection between the two cases. Investigating officer said that the probe is ongoing and any action will be taken based on verified evidence. Authorities continue to urge the public and media to refrain from speculation until the investigation concludes.
