Bastar: 12 Naxalites were gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Sunday. Two jawans also lost their lives during the encounter.
The gunfight started between security forces and Naxalites in the forests, news agency ANI reported citing Bastar police officials.
“12 Naxalites were killed in the encounter in the National Park area of Bijapur district, “two jawans lost their lives, while two others were injured in the gunfight. ” ANI quoted on police official.
The area has been cordoned off and a search operation is underway.
