Navi Mumbai: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl was abducted by an unidentified person in broad daylight on Tuesday from the Devicha Pada area of Taloja village. The Taloja police have launched a search operation to locate the missing child.
Details Of The Missing Girl
The missing girl, identified as Harshika Sharma, aged two years and ten months, lived with her parents and elder brother on the second floor of Mauli Krupa Building in Devicha Pada. Around 12:30 PM on Tuesday, she was playing in the common passage in front of their house while her mother was present. However, when the mother stepped inside for a brief moment and returned, the child was gone.
“The brother of the girl was away at school while her father, who works in a fabrication company in Ambernath, was at work when the incident happened. There are close to 30 flats in the ground plus two-storeyed building, each being a one-room kitchen flat. We have interrogated the people present in the building, and none claim to have seen or heard anything unusual,” said Police Sub-Inspector Meena Varhade from Taloja police station.
No CCTV Footage Found Capturing The Incident
After realizing the child was missing, the family searched the nearby vicinity. When their efforts proved unsuccessful, they approached the Taloja police station on Tuesday night and registered a kidnapping case. As of now, the police have not found any CCTV footage capturing the incident.
Authorities Urge Public To Help Cops Find Missing Child
Authorities have urged the public to report to Taloja police, any information regarding the missing child. Harshika is 2 feet 5 inches tall, has a slim build, and a fair complexion. She has an oval face, straight nose, black eyes, and slightly grown black hair. At the time of her abduction, she was wearing a pink half-sleeve T-shirt and blue half-pants. She also wore a red thread necklace with a gold locket of Goddess Durga, a pearl-colored necklace, and anklets. She is known to speak Hindi and Bhojpuri.
