A 17-year-old girl was shot by a man on a motorcycle on a busy street in Shyam Colony, Ballabgarh (Faridabad) around 5:30 pm on Monday. According to the report, the Class 12 student was returning home from a local library when the attacker approached her and fired at her using a country-made pistol. The bullet hit her on the shoulder, and she also sustained an injury on her hand from the gun pellets. Hearing her screams, locals and passersby rushed to help and attempted to catch the shooter, but he managed to escape on his bike.

As soon as the girl appears in the CCTV footage, the attacker can be seen crossing the lane with a gun in hand before suddenly opening fire. Two girls walking alongside the 17-year-old immediately run in panic as the shooter fires two rounds: one bullet hits her on the shoulder, while the other grazes her abdomen.

The victim seen in visible pain, collapses and cries for help as the attacker grabs his bag and speeds away on his bike. Moments later, her friend rushes back to assist her, visibly shaken by the incident, while bystanders gather at the scene.
It is learnt that the shooter, identified as Jatin Mangla, had been stalking the girl and she had spurned his advances.
