Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Wedding food proved costly to the guests in Mandsaur district, as nearly 125 people fell ill after lunch at a wedding ceremony on Friday. They complained of food poisoning, blaming the ‘stale Ras Malai’ served at the event held in Fatehgarh village.

Seeing the rush of patients, the medical team of the district hospital converted the government school of the village into a hospital and treated the people.

Their condition is said to be better now.

MLA and MP reached the village

MLA Vipin Jain and later MP Sudhir Gupta also reached the village. MP Gupta also expressed displeasure over the CMHO not reaching the spot.

According to the information, a wedding ceremony was held in Fatehgarh village on Saturday morning. After eating food here, wedding guests– women, men and children started complaining of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

School turned into hospital

After trying to treat them with the health facilities available in the village, a team from the district hospital reached there on the information of MLA Vipin Jain. The school of Fatehgarh village was made a temporary hospital.

After about two hours of treatment, most of the people started recovering. MP Sudhir Gupta, who reached Fatehgarh village, also met the patients. Expressing displeasure over the non-arrival of CMHO and his senior staff, he asked to increase medical facilities immediately.
