New Delhi: At least one person was killed and three were injured after a powerful car explosion took place near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday, November 10.
The death toll is expected to rise as the blast was of high intensity. An NIA team is being sent to the scene. The fire brigade received information about the blast at around 7 PM, while a Delhi Police team has begun investigating.
High alert declared throughout Delhi
The explosion was so powerful that the glasses of nearby vehicles were shattered. The area was crowded at the time of the explosion.
Apart from the car in which the blast occurred, three other vehicles parked near it also caught fire. The sources say that the explosion occurred at Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station.
A total of 7 fire tenders and a team from the Delhi Police Special Cell have also reached the spot.
