On Tuesday, Thane recorded 24 new COVID-19 cases. At present, nine patients are receiving treatment in hospitals, and 46 are isolating at home.
A new COVID-19 case and one death have been reported by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) in Thane district on Wednesday. According to a statement from the health department, there are currently eight people infected with COVID-19 in areas under KDMC. Out of them, two are being treated in hospitals.
Sadly, a 67-year-old man from Dombivli, who had been admitted to Kalwa Government Hospital on May 25, passed away on Wednesday. Officials shared that the man had existing health issues like high blood pressure and diabetes. He also hadn’t received a COVID-19 vaccine.
This is the second COVID-related death reported in the KDMC area in the last few days, the previous one happened on May 22.
Authorities have readied isolation wards and issued advisories urging mask usage among high-risk individuals, alongside basic hygiene and distancing measures.
