Bitcoin has achieved a historic milestone, crossing the $100,000 mark for the first time on Wednesday. The popular cryptocurrency has seen a remarkable growth this year and surged over 5% in the last 24 hours.
The recent rally is closely tied to political developments in the United States. Donald Trump won as the next president of the United States and this incident has spurred optimism among cryptocurrency investors Trump has signaled a more crypto-friendly approach. He also selected Paul Atkins, a well-known crypto advocate, to chair the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This appointment is seen as a clear indicator of a potential shift in regulatory attitudes.
Under President Joe Biden, the SEC aggressively targeted cryptocurrency exchanges, including Coinbase. The actions created dissatisfaction among crypto proponents. On the other hand, Trump’s pro-crypto stance boosted market confidence.
Bitcoin’s price has risen roughly 50% since Election Day and more than 100% throughout the year. The crossing of the $100,000 is also a big psychological milestone. It can encourage more investors and shows the growing acceptance of Bitcoin as a legitimate asset class.

If Kraven the Hunter really is the final film in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, then the franchise is going out fittingly not with a bang but a whimper. Between its early Thursday previews and opening Friday screenings, Variety reports that the J.C. Chandor-directed superhero film has so far grossed only $4.7 million at the domestic box office. If that seems low to you, that’s because it is.
Earlier this year, Sony’s Madame Web, which became the subject of even more mocking memes and poor reviews than Kraven the Hunter, fared better. That Dakota Johnson-starring disappointment topped Kraven the Hunter by raking in $6 million in its Wednesday Valentine’s Day debut. Madame Web went on to gross just $43 million domestically and only a little over $100 million worldwide — an unfortunate fate for a film that reportedly cost around $100 million to produce. Things, however, are looking even worse right now for Kraven the Hunter.
In addition to its lackluster opening day gross, the film is now expected to make just somewhere between $13 and $15 million this weekend. That is a notably lower sum than the $20 million to $25 million it was projected to earn just a few weeks ago. Like Madame Web, its opening numbers are particularly concerning considering Kraven the Hunter is said to have similarly cost around $110 million to make.
Sony Pictures Releasing
None of this comes as much of a surprise. The future never looked very bright for Kraven the Hunter, a film that was originally supposed to hit theaters in January 2023 and was ultimately delayed three times. This is, however, par for the course for Sony’s non-Venom Spider-Man Universe movies. Madame Web and Morbius, after all, both underperformed as well.

Morbius did the best out of the three when it hit theaters in April 2022 — grossing $17.3 million on its opening day and $39 million on its first weekend. It went on to earn only $73 million domestically and $167 million worldwide, though. The good news, therefore, is that Kraven the Hunter isn’t the only Sony superhero film that has bombed in recent years. The bad news is that it is currently on track to do even worse than its fellow Spider-Man Universe misfires.

The green line issue refers to the appearance of vertical green lines on AMOLED displays. In most cases, it is not the user at the fault. OnePlus has introduced Enhanced Edge Bonding Layer to revolutionize AMOLED display durability. This tech leverages PVX edge-sealing material that is known for its exceptional resistance to moisture, oxygen, and extreme weather conditions. Television has evolved a lot since the prestige TV booms of the late ’90s and mid-2000s, but Inglourious Basterds and Pulp Fiction writer-director Quentin Tarantino still prefers movies to the shows of the small screen. The filmmaker revealed as much during a recent appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience with his Video Archives Podcast co-host Roger Avary.
“Everyone talks about how great television is now, and it’s pretty good, I gotta say. It’s pretty good. But it’s still television to me,” the Oscar-winning director explained. “I’ll use an example of a show: Yellowstone. I didn’t get around to watching it the first three years or so, and then I watched the first season and I thought, ‘Wow, this is f***ing great. I’ve always been a Kevin Costner fan, and he is wonderful in this,’ and I got caught up in the show and all of a sudden, I’m having a good time.”
“I end up watching like three seasons of it, and then I even watch that [spinoff] 1883, and I was like, ‘Oh, this is a good Western show. I like Westerns!’” Tarantino recalled. “While I’m watching it, I am compelled. I’m caught up in it. But at the end of the day, it’s all just a soap opera.” The filmmaker continued, “If you watch [long-canceled soap opera] The Edge of Night Monday to Friday, you get caught up in the dramas of the family and everything, but you don’t remember it five years from now. You’re caught up in the minutiae of it at the moment.”
Paramount Network
Ultimately, Tarantino believes that the lasting impressions most TV shows leave pale in comparison to the impact of any great movie. “I’ll see a good Western movie, and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life,” the director argues. “I’ll remember the story, this scene or that scene. It built to an emotional climax of some degree. The story is good. It’s not just about the interpersonal relationships. The story is good itself, but there’s a payoff to it. There is not a payoff on this stuff. It’s just more interconnected drama. While I am watching it, that is good enough. But when it’s over, I couldn’t tell you [anything about it].”

“I don’t remember any of the bad guys for [Yellowstone] season 2 or season 3. It’s out of my head. It’s just completely gone!” Tarantino said. “But Red River, I remember for the rest of my life.”
Some viewers will likely take issue with Tarantino’s opinion, especially considering how much more sophisticated TV storytelling has become across the board over the past 20 years. However, it is worth noting that Tarantino is not completely opposed to television as a medium. Not only did he work with Netflix in 2019 to re-edit his 2015 Western The Hateful Eight into a four-episode miniseries, but he also famously directed a two-part episode of CSI back in 2005 and an episode of ER in 1995. It just seems that for now, at least, he still has a very clear preference when it comes to TV or movies.

SpaceX has shared a video (below) showing a static fire test of its Starship spacecraft at the spaceflight company’s Starbase site near Boca Chica, Texas.
It comes a week after the Elon Musk-led spaceflight company tested the 33 Raptor engines on the Super Heavy booster ahead of the seventh test flight involving the integrated booster and spacecraft, collectively known as the Starship rocket.
The footage, shared on Sunday, shows the Starship firmly secured to the ground as SpaceX fires three of the spacecraft’s six engines for about eight seconds. Once the test data has been analyzed and the spacecraft deemed fit to fly, engineers will place the vehicle atop the 70-meter-tall Super Heavy booster for the seventh orbital test flight.

The Starship spacecraft has three Raptor engines designed for operation at sea level and three Raptor Vacuum (RVac) engines optimized for use in the vacuum of space.
The Starship will use its engines for landing burns on both Earth and other celestial bodies, as well as for launches from locations where it lands other than Earth. In the seventh test flight, the spacecraft’s engines will ignite in orbit, and also again as the vehicle returns to Earth for a splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
Looking ahead, SpaceX is building a modified version of the Starship spacecraft that will land the first NASA crew on the moon in more than 50 years. The mission, Artemis III, was recently pushed back by at least a year to 2027. The Starship could also be used by NASA for the first crewed mission to Mars, which may take place some time in the 2030s.
Before that, SpaceX is continuing with its testing of the entire Starship, the most powerful rocket ever to fly. The mighty machine, which as a total height of 120 meters, has already performed six test flights, with the more recent ones sending the Starship spacecraft to orbit.
No target date has been officially announced for the seventh test, but an email sent by NASA to the Federal Aviation Administration cites January 11 as the current target date for the flight.

After five seasons and 50-plus episodes, Yellowstoneis finally saying goodbye. Season 5, episode 14 is definitely the season finale and, in all likelihood, the series finale, too. Before the show says farewell, there are still some loose ends to tie up. The fate of the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch is still up in the air. Who will be in control by the end of the episode? The battle between Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Jamie (Wes Bentley) should come to an explosive end. Plus, the family will hold John Dutton’s funeral. For one last time, see how to watch the Yellowstone series finale below.
