Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi reportedly died from bullet injuries under mysterious circumstances late Friday night. Joint Police Commissioner Jaskaran Singh Teja confirmed the death, stating that Gogi was brought dead to DMC Hospital. His body has been kept in the mortuary for a postmortem. According to Teja, the incident occurred around midnight.
DCP Jaskaran Singh Teja told ANI, “Gurpreet Gogi was declared brought dead at the hospital, his body has been kept at the mortuary in DMC hospital. Post-mortem will be conducted. As per the family members, he shot himself accidentally, he sustained bullet injuries to his head. Cause of death will be clear once post-mortem report comes…”
District Secretary of AAP, Paramveer Singh, shared that the MLA had returned to his home in Ghumar Mandi after attending routine events earlier in the day. He was with his family in his final moments. Gogi is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
