Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, who is contesting from the New Delhi Assembly seat, strongly criticized Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Preparations for the Delhi Assembly elections, set for early next year, are in full swing. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is hopeful of retaining power, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is striving to regain control after a long gap. The assembly elections in Delhi is likely to be held in February 2025 however, the Election Commission of India is yet to announce the dates. Congress, which was in power in Delhi for 15 successive years, has performed poorly in the past two assembly polls, failing to win any seat. AAP won 62 out of the 70 seats in the 2020 assembly elections and BJP secured eighth seats.

The Congress party is also aiming for a comeback after a long gap. Amid the election excitement in Delhi, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit spoke exclusively with India.com. In the conversation, Dikshit highlighted his strategy to challenge both AAP and BJP in the upcoming elections.

Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, who is contesting from the New Delhi Assembly seat, sharply criticized Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). While criticizing, Dikshit stated that Kejriwal has proven to be both an ineffective MLA and a weak Chief Minister.

Later, he highlighted the poor condition of the New Delhi area, Kejriwal’s constituency, with broken roads, and water shortages. He stated that children are unable to secure school admissions. Dikshit raised concerns about how the rest of Delhi would fare if the Chief Minister’s own constituency is in such a state. He also remarked that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi has harmed the country, Kejriwal has inflicted even greater damage on Delhi.

While talking to India.com, Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit, criticized Arvind Kejriwal’s education and health models, calling them mere facades. He claimed that Kejriwal had exaggerated these models without any true substance. As per Dikshit, the actual condition of education and healthcare in Delhi has worsened, far from the ideal the models suggest. He also pointed out that Kejriwal avoids facing direct questions, which is why people tend to believe his portrayal of reality without challenge.

Later, Sandeep Dikshit highly attacked the education system under the Kejriwal government, stating that in the name of improving schools, only beautification work has been done. Furthermore, he pointed out that last year’s 12th-grade results showed 1.3 lakh students, which was the same number as during Sheila Dikshit’s time. He further mentioned that Sheila Dikshit had improved the Class 8th pass percentage from 48% to 88%, while Kejriwal’s administration has only managed to bring it to around 92-93%. The result last year was even lower than that.

Later in the video, Sandeep Dikshit stated that the claim of private school students shifting to government schools is inaccurate. During Sheila Dikshit’s tenure, 43% of Delhi’s students were studying in government schools. Now, this figure has dropped to 41%, indicating a decline rather than an increase. He emphasized that the real revolution in education happened during Sheila Dikshit’s time, not under the current administration. Dikshit added that Congress would make every effort to expose the reality of the Kejriwal government and highlight areas where it has failed to deliver.
